Welcome to the Official World Egg Throwing Federation Website.
Egg Throwing has been a sport enjoyed by millions of people since early humans discovered the delight of watching a failure of another to catch a tossed egg. Nowadays egg throwing is a serious sport played all over the world. The aim of the WETF is :

(b) To organise its own international competitions.
(c) To draw up regulations and ensure their enforcement.
(d) To control every type of association egg throwing by taking appropriate steps to prevent
infringement of the statutes, regulations or decisions of WETF of the laws of the game.
(e) To prevent all methods or practices which might jeopardize the integrity of games or competitions or give rise to the abuse of egg throwing sport.

Many thanks to all who turned out from across the world, truly an international event. In the trebuchets Team America unfortunately resorted to friendly spectator fire. Team Dutch, as amazing as the Trebuchet arriving on a bicycle was, failed primarily due to the weak point in the trebuchet design. Team Latvian Welders were great runners up and all round good eggs. The winners were Team Emu sporting a dashing Lincolnshire flag. Team Wales failed to enter due to the oversight of the fact that they made a large trebuchet, but neglected the fact they drive a Corsa.
The Russian egg roulette was as entertaining as ever, with BBC's Tom Fordyce, Ben Dirs, Paddy McGuiness, and Rory McGrath all making their appearance.
The Winners are as follows:
Trebuchet Challenge- Team Emu, comprising of Pete Harborough and Alex Richardson from the village of Swaton
Russian Egg Roulette- Opal Upton Brooker, formerly of Team Russia.
Throwing and Catching- George Wattam and Joe Spencer. Runners up were Tom Fordyce and Ben Dirs from BBC Sport.
Relay Egg Throwing- Team Latvia and Team Wales. Uniting the Nations.
Many thanks to Joel Hicks, our egg throwing with accuracy target. Whose appearance was spontaneous due to the absence on Stupid Steve.
Keep an eye out in the Press, some of you may have noticed the swarm of TV cameras and photographers, these where not locals.
We believe our appearance may stretch across the waters to France, Germany, and the USA. As wells as Transworld Sport, and various UK new sources.
We also had Channel 5 with Rory McGrarth and Paddy McGuiness recording thier new series 'Rory and Paddy Vs the UK' which will air on Channel 5 later in the Year.
If you have anything fun to add, or want more information for your Book, Television programme, or even Blockbuster Film. Feel fre to drop us an email. Enquiries about garden Fetes also accepted. |
